In a span of just three years in Los Angeles, Indian actress Sonam Arvind Dhage has made a mark in TV commercials and industrial films. Now, she will be seen on the big screen in Troy Byer Bailey’s urban comedy “I Really Hate My Ex,” playing an ex-girlfriend; in a supporting role in Phil Condit’s horror film “Empress Vampire,” making the round of festivals; and on the comedy feature film “Wingman, Inc.,” from director Choice Skinner.
Born in India and brought up in Dubai, Dhage has also shot an industrial film for Los Angeles City College and appeared in television commercials for Telemundo and Dove.
In Jada Pinkett Smith’s poignant music video on the topic of human trafficking, “Don’t Sell Bodies,” Dhage played a prominent role and was directed by actress Salma Hayek, according to a press release. Having trained at Second City and TVI studios, Dhage has also produced, co-wrote and acted in a short film titled “TypeCast.”
Up next for the busy actress is a lead role in “Treasured” (Khazana) by Indian American director Rahul Nath, scheduled to begin shooting in December; and a lead role in Anand Alagappan’s “The Night,” which starts in January.
